Season 2, Ep tbd Jay Friedman on Food & Sex
Favorite beverage: ”I’m not much of a drinker, actually.”
Favorite bar: the lounge at Canlis (Seattle, WA) — “The piano player’s repertoire fascinates me, and I’d fully trust the bartender to prepare something alcoholic or non-alcoholic.”
Jay Friedman is a professionally certified sex educator and multi-year nominee by the National Association for Campus Activities as “Lecturer of the Year” on the college lecture circuit, where he’s shared his insights and outbursts on love, sex and dating for over twenty years. He got his start as a sex educator during seven years of work for Planned Parenthood after getting his undergraduate degree from Cornell University. (He later got a Masters degree in education from the University of Vermont.) Friedman’s also an accomplished food writer and restaurant reviewer, freelancing for publications like Northwest Palate and USA Today, as well as serving as The Sunbreak.com’s food editor. He’s the co-editor of the recently released Fearless Critic Seattle Restaurant Guide, which offers brutally honest reviews of 250 of Seattle’s most delicious and interesting restaurants. Fascinated by the connections between sex and food, Friedman writes the weekly “Sexy Feast” feature for Seattle Weekly’s Voracious blog, and he aggregates much of his food writing at his popular Gastrolust.com website.
