Eric Lanlard, master patissier and twice winner of the prestigious Continental Patissier of the Year at the British Baking Awards, has earned himself an international reputation for superlative cakes with an impressive A-list clientele and a global fan base.
Having trained in France, Eric moved to London where he ran the patisserie business for Albert and Michel Roux Snr. He stayed there for five years before launching his own business and now creates cakes for his South West London cake emporium – Cake Boy. Eric is an experienced television chef and has presented and starred in two series of Glamour Puds for Channel 4. Glamour Puds invited the viewer into a glamorous world of patisserie and showcased Eric’s world-class skills. Each programme contained mouth-watering recipes and an insight into Eric’s life at home and at work. Both series have been broadcast in Australia, South Africa, South America and Scandinavia.
As well as fronting his own series Eric has also made numerous guest appearances on TV shows including Mary Portas Queen of Shops, Market Kitchen, Masterchef: The Professionals and Cookery School.
Combining his love of travelling and his passion for patisserie, Eric has appeared at the South African Food & Wine Show and has carried out demonstrations and live talks, corporate and private events throughout the country.
He is author of four books: Glamour Cakes, Master Cakes, Home Bake and Cox, Cookies, and Cake – all published by Mitchell Beazley. Home Bake will be published in the States this Autumn under the title Cake Boy. He runs regular classes at his cookery school housed within Cake Boy.
His latest project is the brand new Chanel 4 10-part series – Baking Mad with Eric Lanlard. Each programme sees Eric’s sharing his tips and skills – teaching bakers how to produce mouth watering cakes and desserts with ease and speed.
